Over in London, an interesting scenario could be developing.

Chelsea, the reigning Premier League champions, are going through difficult times.

Far from looking confident of achieving a top-four finish which would guarantee the club a Champions League place next season, they`ve lost four out of their last five Premier League games.

The most recent, against Manchester City on Sunday, saw their boss, Antonio Conte, come in for some heavy criticism, from various quarters, as to the manner in which he set his side up for the game.

Ultra-defensive would be the kindest expression to use, with Conte utilising his star-player, Eden Hazard, in a false number nine position.

Unfortunately, for Hazard, the ploy never looked like working and the 27-year-old Belgian international cut a forlorn and disappointed figure as he was taken off late on without being able to influence the game.

Hazard is one of the players Chelsea want to sign a contract extension but the news vehicle, the Daily Mail, is insinuating that the player is reluctant to put pen-to-paper on a new deal if there is a chance Real Madrid could make a move for him.

This summer, Real Madrid, on the back of a disappointing La Liga campaign, will be looking to add to the squad, could the hugely talented Eden Hazard be one of the new faces at the Bernabeu?
