As we enjoy (saying through clenched teeth), the latest break for international fixtures, one of our squad has found himself in the limelight.

Although his future at the Bernabeu may be shrouded in doubt, Gareth Bale, playing for Wales, has written his name in lights.

Playing for his country, against China, Bale scored a hat-trick that saw him elevated to the top of the all-time scoring charts when it comes to his country.

The third goal of his hat-trick saw Bale reach 29 goals, beating the current record held by the former Liverpool striker, Ian Rush.

Asked about what it meant to be his country`s all-time scorer, Bale remarked to the media,

‘It is right up there, maybe as the best.

‘I suppose when I was a little boy I never dreamed of being a record-breaker for Wales. It is a massive honour.

‘I was not thinking about it, but now it has come it’s an incredible honour and one of the best things I’ve achieved in my career.

‘On a personal note it’s great to break the record, but I could not have done it without my team-mates.’

Here at Vital Real Madrid we`d like to congratulate Gareth on his achievement.
